Keropok Lekor Cenderawasih #1 is a charming seafood restaurant nestled in the serene town of Chendor Sempadan, Malaysia, renowned for its authentic and richly flavorful keropok lekor—traditional Malay fish crackers that capture the essence of fresh ocean bounty.
At this local gem, the star of the menu is undoubtedly the keropok lekor, which comes in a variety of enticing forms to suit every palate. Whether you prefer the crispy, golden-fried version or the subtly chewy steamed keropok lekor, each bite reveals a generous, fresh fish content that sets it apart from many others in the region. The crunchy exterior of the fried keropok, paired with its moist and fragrant interior, creates an irresistible texture contrast that keeps patrons coming back for more. For those seeking a lighter experience, the steamed variety presents an even more pronounced fish flavor, highlighting the freshness of the ingredients—a detail keenly noted and appreciated by discerning palates like Eric Chuah’s.
Customer favorites also include the fried kepuk leko, praised for its perfectly crispy shell and satisfying texture inside, alongside boiled and dried variants that offer different taste experiences, all at very reasonable prices. Complementing these savory delights is a uniquely flavorful chili dipping sauce, a must-try accompaniment that elevates each bite with a spicy kick and tangy balance often hard to find elsewhere.
The atmosphere at Keropok Lekor Cenderawasih #1 is welcoming and authentic, with friendly staff who go the extra mile by assisting in packing and sealing your purchases, making it convenient for takeaways or gifts. This hospitality adds a warm, personal touch to your visit—something travelers appreciate in a local dining spot.
What truly makes this eatery stand out is its commitment to delivering keropok lekor that remains true to its roots in terms of ingredient quality and traditional preparation. Unlike many outlets in Kuala Lumpur that tend to dilute flavor with excess flour, Keropok Lekor Cenderawasih #1 prides itself on its generous fish content and impeccable freshness, making it a beloved staple for locals and adventurous foodies alike.
Whether you’re passing through Chendor or making a deliberate detour to experience authentic Malaysian seafood snacks, this humble establishment promises a genuine taste of local culinary heritage that'll leave your taste buds vividly satisfied and eager to return.

One of the best keropok lekor I've tasted. Tried the steamed version to evaluate the amount and freshness of fish used. I have to say that this might be the best in the area by far. Posted photo is the fried version that is also very tasty

A lot of pictures are from the shop next to it,Keropok Jala. Anyway, anytime you past this area..do buy yourself few packets of this keropok lekor to bring back home ( towards KL,etc). The one selling in KL town is less content of fish, and more flour added. Buy the chilly dipping sauce too...hardly get nice sauce to complement with this keropok lekor.

We asked for fried kepuk leko and stall workers immediately sprung to action. Kepuk was crispy on outside and have great taste and texture inside. We bought boiled kepuk leko and dried ones too. Reasonable price!

A good place to get keropok lekor. It's one of the shop in a long row of shops selling keropok lekor, so u hv choices. Taste wise, it's above average, more fish taste than most sold in KL area of coz. But compared to the area, u can find better, but not much better. Only aficionado or foodie would tell the difference
